Content Based Routing based on HL7 messages
The Content Based Router Service Engine (a services orchestration component) has HL7 processing providing the ability to route HL7 messages based on the type and trigger event of message. The Transaction Identification (TrxID) function assigns a transaction id for each message exchange coming to Content Based Router, supporting different kinds of TrxID such as X12, HL7, CSV, XPath, and Script. The CBR can also be configured to route a message into multiple destinations. For more information about Content Based Routing, refer to the ChainBuilder ESB Reference Guide.
HL7 Message Support with Map Editor
ChainBuilder ESB includes support for parsing and transforming Health Level 7 (HL7) messages. The Map editor provides the ability to transform between an HL7 message and any other supported format like XML, X12 and custom formats defined in the Message Format Editor. The editor can also to create modified HL7 definitions commonly known as "variant" based on the standard HL7 definitions. A tester within the editor can be used to verify messages are parsed as expected. The supported HL7 versions are: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.3.1, and 2.4. For more information and experience on the HL7 Map editor shown below, visit the ChainBuilder ESB Editor page, consult the X12 and HL7 Editor Guide or try the Healthcare HL7 Use Case.
TCP/IP Binding Component with HL7 MLLP
The ChainBuilder ESB TCP/IP Binding Component can provide server or client functionality supporting SSL connections (anonymous, client and/or server authentication). The component provides a handler framework with the ability to implement application-level protocols such as HL7 minimum lower level protocol (MLLP).
Handlers are provided for:
HL7 MLLP and HL7 MLLP with ACK/NAK. An example is available of implementing HL7 MLLP through ChainBuilder ESB as a Healthcare Use Case Scenario. For more information about the TCP/IP Binding Component configuration shown below, refer to the ChainBuilder ESB Reference Guide.
